Replacing headgasket, why is one piston extra clean?

Default Replacing headgasket, why is one piston extra clean?
I'm replacing my dad's blown head gasket off his 95 Civic LX and noticed the #1 piston was extra clean compared to the others. Can anyone give me any information as to why that might be like that?

Water was leaking into this cylinder. The water "steam cleans" the piston, cylinder, and spark plug. Hope that helps.
