An H22 and a B16 are on opposite sides of the spectrum in terms of motors that can be swapped into Hondas. The B16 is essentially a D16 with more horsepower, not more torque (where it counts).
And to learn more about the different engines there's a sticky at the top of the '92-'00 forum called "What swaps are available for my Civic?"

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by wolf95 »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">again, i can't find the thread like this one....but I'm still in high school and I just got myself a 95 honda del sol si as my daily driver. the problem is...it only has a d16z6. I would like to know whether i should get a b16, b18, or an h22 and still be cheap enough for a high schooler. i'm getting about 35 mpg on the d16. how's the mpg on the other ones? thanks </TD></TR></TABLE>
Since you are relatively inexpereinced (or so it seems) do NOT boost anything. You need knowhow and expereince to make a boosted engine live for longer than a week. I stay away from turboing BECAUSE I'm experienced, though lol.
Anyway, the simple answer would be a B series swap. A B16A in a Del Sol is not going to be slow. But for a little more money, you can either get a B18C(1) or a B18C(5).
Personally, I didn't like the B18C1. The gear ratios suck...and it's a little on the boring side in the way it makes it's power. It is faster than a B16 in the same chassis by more than a little, though.
The B16A is more "entertaining" to drive. But it's going to be a little lacking on the torque. Once you get it cranked, though, it really moves.
The B18C5 (ITR) has the advantages of both engines rolled into one. It's also the most expensive. It also has an LSD trans standard. The 00-01 (U.S.) and 98-01 (JDM) engines are the best versions. The JDM 98+ ones come with a slightly better gear ratio.
The H22 is a GREAT motor. Cheap, tons of torque, lots of power, and will probably be the fastest swap (out of the above mentioned) for your Del sol. The disadvantages are that it's much harder to swap in, there are less parts available for it, you will probably lose AC and PS, it REQUIRES you to use polyurethane mounts (I hate polyurethane mounts), and the trans ratios are kinda wack (although, you can buy a kit to swap the B series transmission onto it). It's going to be the best bang for your buck if you can live without AC and PS....and if you know how to swap it in, or find someone else to swap it in.
Make your own decision.

Thanks <U>B series</U>. You gave me a more indepth answer I was lookin for. I found a 90-93 B16A G1 for $1350, Civic 97+ B16B-R Engine Swap for $3500, and a 92-95 B16A-G2 Complete Engine all online. They all come with transmissions and everything. Which engine is better? Whats the difference between the Letters n stuff?

See the red underlined Search button in the upper right? You can plug in all of those engine codes into that and find threads telling you everything you want to know. You could also take your lazy *** to the first thread in the forum - What swaps are available for my Civic? - and simply read exactly what the differences are and what the numbers and letters mean.
We're not here to hold your hand, boy. Stop wasting our time being lazy.

archidictus is right, if you were to spend the 10 seconds it takes to do a search you would come up with enough live opinions to last you a while
in the end its all personal preference

They are right. You can search and find answers. But you other guys gotta admit that this thread may lead to new information/discussions. I think the guy is looking for some more direct answers. If he doesn't know much about cars (or hondas), he may not even know WHERE to search or WHAT to search for. He'd have to read like 50 years of information to begin to get a grasp. Noobs may not know what engine codes mean (he doesnt), or what other abbreviations mean. Plus, he might be looking for subjective opinions. Everyone's opinion may be different.
OP: The 90-93 B16A is garbage. It will take more work to make it work in your chassis as well. You're looking for something that's a 92+ to make for a more direct swap. The 92+ B16As have more HP (170 VS. 160). They also have hydraulic transmissions, and a list of other advantages.
The 92-95 swaps will be the MOST direct swap with almost no additional parts needed.
The 96-00 swaps require OBD1 injectors and an OBD1 ECU with an OBD2-OBD1 conversion harness. Small parts. I'm not sure if they make OBD1 to OBD2 converson harnesses. If they make those then it negates the need for the OBD2 injectors, or OBD1 ecu.
The integra swaps are 99.9% direct bolt on with the exception of the driver's side upper mount. However, that should be included with your swap, so we're probably back to 100% bolt in with the integra motors as well. If you buy an integra motor, look for a 94+. The above rules about 92-95 vs 96-00 still apply.
The B16A is a little anemic. It wont be bad in a Del sol. The B16B is nice, but for the $$, you could buy a GSR/SIR-G motor (B18C(1) blacktop). The B16B will be more entertaining IMO, but the B18C will make much more torque, and have more potential over all.
The other information has been provided either in earlier posts, or all over honda tech. DO A SEARCH. The other people are right in a way. But you do need to search for things. People get sick of answering the same questions over and over. I hope we have given you enough info to search the next time around.
Whatever you do, ALWAYS buy from a reputable dealer. Price isn't everything. If you go to a scummy cheap place, you may get a scummy cheap swap. There is, however, a place called http://www.n1concepts.com. They have the most RIDCULOUSLY low prices. They're a honda tech sponsor, so I would assume that their quality is up to par. But SEARCH for people who have had experience with N1 concepts. http://www.Hmotorsonline.com is another excellent place. They are a little more $, but I can tell you first hand that their swaps are SUPER freaking crazy clean, and their customer service is also very good.
Good luck.

Or a D series from a junkyard. Much cheaper. I dont know that he wants to learn something that indepth. He probably just wants a swap to make more power. I think it's the simplest and one of the best ways.

Thanks B serious. I'm not just a power hog. I wanna LEARN!! I've decided to mess with the engine I have now so if I make a mistake, it'll come out cheaper and not as drastic. Ya, i'm a bit of a noob on this site. I'll try to do more research than BOTHER you guys. thanks all
