removing shift boot?
on a 1997 civic hx, how do you remove the shift boot...
i'm thinking we'll have to take off the console.. if so, how do we do that?

first you will need a plasma cutter, tig welder, and some air tools...
I take it you haven't looked at it yet. If you had, you would have grabbed a phillips head screwdriver and been halfway done in the time it took you to post this.

To take off the shifter console, you have to take off either your armrest or e-brake console (which ever one your car has). That's held on by a couple or few philips head screws. Then remove the shifter console, again a few screws. Once out, you will notice the shift boot is held on by two or three philips head screws.

First you'll need a phillips screwdriver and a 14 socket (to take out the drivers seat). then take out the drivers seat, and the shift ****...then go to school with the philips screw driver...shouldnt take you too long...took me like 1/2 hour last nite....

you do not need to remove the driver seat, if you slide the seats all the way back there is enough room to take out the screws
