removing the lower timing belt cover on a 96-98 civic
no matter how i manuever the timing belt cover, it won't come off because of the obstruction from the dipstick tube.
i don't want to bend or damage the tube, so, is there an easier way around it?
thanks

Dumb question, but you've removed the crank pulley right?
It should just come off. I am not 100% sure, but aren't the oil dip sticks in the middle of the exhaust manifold on D series?
Keep us posted, bro.

To get take the lower timing belt cover off you have to take off the crank pully. Are you changing your timing belt or something? cause i really think you should keep the lower cover on for safty purposes.

Re: removing the lower timing belt cover on a 96-98 civic (Luserkid)
sorry for not being clear guys. yes, i'm changing the timing belt on my gf's car and yes, the crank pulley is off (love the moroso crank pulley holder) just can't get it around the dipstick tube and all the bolts are off of the timing belt cover as well.
also, i didn't know changing the God damn timing belt for the 96-98 civics, or single cams for that matter, was so difficult. everything on the driver's side engine bay is pretty much off or unbolted. meaning the A/C compressor, A/C bracket, P/S pump, cruise control, A/C pulley, etc, etc.

UPDATE: didn't know this but, the dipstick tube can be turned to avoid contact with the timing belt cover

So I'm assuming you can take her off then?
