Removing IAC valve D16y7??
Okay So I am attempting to remove my IAC valve on my d16y7.. so I can clean it
I know there are 4 bolts on each corner of the valve, and 2 hoses.
I can remove all 3 of the bolts except the bottom left bolt, because the small plastic cylinder thing is sort of blocking the bolt. (It is the one that has a red square around it in the picture.)
the plastic cylinder part of the IAC looks like it has 2 screws that is holding it on, I can easily unscrew it, but will that mess anything up with the IAC??
any help suggestions tips would be great..
thanks for reading..

not as far as i know. ACtually im pretty sure that the Green thing is the IAC valve itself. The valve on the bottom is the FITV. On those manifolds the IACV is attached to the FITV.

not to sound like a smart *** or anything but i dont think the d16y7 doesnt have a fitv, that whole thing is a IAC. The reason I can't reach the bolt is because that plastic part of the IAC is in the way.. some people say I should take out the throttle body.. it is it really nessasary?

For the D16Y7, the only coolant hoses going to the throttle body are for the IACV. The troublesome FITV was eliminated in Civics that are 1996 and older.

okay so would it be okay to take off that plastic green cylinder part of the IAC to reach the bolt? or would that part even come off with the 2 screws removed? or would I have to remove the throttle body??

Re: Removing IAC valve D16y7??
Alright So taking off the throttle body and throttle cable was super easy. For people with d16y7 people here are right, just take off the throttle body its 4 bolts. and reaching the IAC would be alot easier.. I cleaned out my IAC, Im letting it idle right now im going to hope its going to get rid of my random idle.
