redline goes back and forth
95vx b16 obd1 w/ p30 ecu, no codes...bad gas milage
whats up peeps, My friends civic ive been trying to get running perfect is getting on my nerves it seems like it wants to run good one day then the next it doesnt..heres the deal
NO CODES!!! the car is all the way advanced, only casue it wont stay idleing if its not..now i put a timing light to it and it says its lined up(but all the way advanced?) no all the way advanced it idles at 400rpms and wants to shut off..i played around with vacuum lines then just gave up and adjusted the idle screw...now the car idles and its been running the best if ever had since the swap...when pedel to the metal it red lines between 6400-7400 and even gets held up sometimes..its not getting the best gas milage and sometimes takes a long time to start on cold starts..i swapped out the Fuel pressure reg. with my freinds adjustable one. and it started running better but feels like a fuel related problem and maybe an out of adjustment tps. plus seems like it pulls harder half throttle. o yeah hesitates..so what im doing today is tuning the tps and hopefully check fuel pressure..but if you have any ideas give me a heads up i.d aprecaiate it.

Re: redline goes back and forth (matthevelli)
-sigh-
1.) I assume that when you say "redlines" you mean rev limits. That would be when the car stops accelerating in a violent fashion, usually accompanied by a bouncing noise and jerking sensation.
2.) If the distributor is all the way advanced and that's the only way it will keep time, something is obviously wrong. Have you checked the plugs? Have you actually looked at the cam gears and the crank sprocket to make sure everything's lined up mechanically? Have you tested all the fuel injectors to make sure one's not dead?
3.) How can you tell that it feels like an out of adjustment TPS?
4.) what's a B15?
