Hey guys,

Do you guys know where to get red colored bulbs for brake lights? The outer brake lamp is becoming discolored and getting clear and transparent so the light that shines is pretty bright. I've tried all the Kragen's and Napa stores around my area and none of them sell it.

Would spray painting the bulb red work?

i wouldnt paint the bolt, one... im sure the heat would peal it off, second... reduse visability, and last the bolts are somewhere and im sure cheap...or their is paint or tape that would go over the lights

LED is the best Red tint on a bulb will just fade away from the light emmited from the bulb its un avoidable. Do you have OEM tail lights??

No they are replacement tail lights. My OEMs were cracked by someone rear ending me.
Would LED's fit? Don't they require something else like a transformer?

I used spray paint on my type r tail light "bulbs" for my hatch they have clear lenses unlike the stock tail lights that are amber lenses for the turn signals . I had to paint the turn signal bulbs amber for inspection .They passed and it looks fine .Although I dont know how it would look as far as the tails themselves being faded / discolored .Try it and see,paint the bulbs if it doesnt look right with red bulbs just remove the paint off the bulbs with carb cleaner or gasoline and try something else.

Borrow some red nail polish from your sister.

It takes only a minute to spray paint two little light bulbs and another minute to wipe it off if you dont like it .

would be best to purchase a replacement tail light lense and save yourself some trouble

no only if the LED is being used as a turn signal
The LEDs that show there ligh radially are the best like this one (this one is amber but they make red also)

the left one is the led ?? what would i need if i wanted a led bulb for a turn signal??
