Default red/clear tails "best"

I am shopping on ebay alot and i notice that there are many internet sites that are bidding off a pair of red/clear jdm tail lights for the eg but i know they leak ,so is there any one who knows which is the best "brand" to buy to guarentee no leaks , cause the only reason i want to swap in some new tails , is that my stock ones leak and i like the red/clear look. feedback appreciated

First off, there is nothing JDM about them. Second, clear silicone is your friend. Just seal them up real good yourself once you get them.

I got some from Rob at http://www.robearracing.com and the driver outside tail is the only one that fills with water sometimes. I plan on sealing it up one day. Any non OEM light has a GOOD chance of leaking, you just gotta deal with it. Mine look like this:

why seal it up when it's MUCH easier and less messy to just get a SUPER small drill bit and drill a hole at each bottom corner and each INNER top corner to let water and vapor out....

I have had mine on my EJ coupe for 5 or 6 years, never had one problem with condensation. I don't have any idea who made 'em, though.

drill the INNER as in the one that leaks? for ex..if the bottom left brake/parking light fills up. just drill the bottom of that one and drill the top corner of that one? or drill on the top corner of the assembly?

Why do this
When it rains it will fill with vapor best bet is to not buy the POS.

i think preventing the water gettin in there is a much better solution than letting water go through it... i mean why dont we just have a bunch of holes in the car so water can drain out instead of all these... seals???

Because it will get moldy then you have to take them apart anyways. Just seal them up well to begin with while they are off of the car. With that said, some of them don't seem like they can be sealed. I have a friend who bought some "angel eye" headlights, and we have taken them apart and put almost a whole tube of silicone in/on them to try to keep them from clouding, and they still do it.

It's not that they're made in taiwan, but the JDM tails have amber in them just like the USDM ones do. They just lack the reflectors.

apc altezzas with top half painted red. no leaks, no silicone either. i think they look better than the red/clears on ebay since the top half is red. and you can get these used alot cheaper than red/clears..
