Default Rear Washer camber adjustment : UCA hitting wheel?

My car is lowered with omnipower coilovers, and I also did the ghetto washer trick to adjust the camber. I put in all 3 washers for each side and now I am finding that the the upper control arms are sitting very close to the wheel and under moderate turning they are hitting/scraping the wheel! I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem? Obviously I should start by removing some of the washers? Any opinions ?
