Default Rear Quarter Panel Differences?

Heres my problem.the first day I got my car (92 civic si) It was hit on the passenger side rear quarter panel.a clean swipe arcoss the side of it.My insurance didnt cover it.and it was given a rebuildable title(I dont know why it wasnt damaged that badly just the panel and a dent in the door)I know some guys who do body work and they said if I get them a quarter panel they will weld the sucker on for me.so I have been calling local salvage yards looking for a panel and some keep telling me that the Si's panel is different from the other hatches.I didnt think that the panels differed.does it have something to do with the fitment of interrior panels?or do these guys even know what they know what there are talking about?I just dont want to buy a panel from a cx or something and it end up not fitting properly.any help is apprectiated.
I already thought about the model with no molding but what models did that come on?

thanks a lot
Jamison

Thanks guys.I have pics but imagesattion is givin me some problems.the damage is not fixable there in a crimp in the metal so it would be a piant ot even try.I stripped out the interrior and the dent in came close to the subfrme but it didnt really do bad damage to the subframe just around the window area its a little bent up but easily strraightened out.the only thing is I have seen some civic models dont have moldings I was wondering which one it is.

youd have to cut a 1/4 panel off another car and weld it on... thats why they usally total cars when they are hit there.. its a pain in the ***

yeah but I got some good guys doin it for me I have 2 professional welders one used to do body work and I know how to do a little welding my self.Im just not sure which car I should get the part off because the place I want to get it from wont let me walk around a pick it they cut it off themselves and deliver it.I just dont want to end up with the model that dosent have moldings because then I would have to do shaving and whatnot to make it match the otherside and I really dont want to get into that ****.

only diff would be the small holes to hold the moldings.. basically theyll have the holes unless its off a cx. than theyll be filled.. you know what i mean

here's a bad quarter.. I got a expert body guy, he's a master with bondo and polyester.. I hate bondo and all but I can't afford to replace it right now. Especially cuz aftermarket sux and I need OEM.

good luck!

I was thinking about buying one new but I would be paying more than double than a perfect one from a salvage yeard. It will cost me 250 to fix it no charge to get it done.Usually they give Rebuildable titles to cars who have frame damage.CX has no moldings?for 92-95?Ther has to be another model that has moldings because Si cant be the only hatch that came with moldings.

whether it came with moldings or not shouldnt matter.

if you need the molding mounting holes, just drill some new ones, or just glue/epoxy the molding in place.

if you dont want molding, or mounting holes, just have the bodyshop fill in the holes.

You aren't going to have the quarter painted? You're going to install it yourself?

Im not goin to do it my self I am having a pro do it for me (friend of the family fo free )He said that If I wanted to get it fixed it would cost me around 500 for the brand new part.SO im looking for a good part from a junk yard and i wasnt sure which one to get because they tell me there are some difference and thoes I found out were the modlings. And as far as the painting goes the origional plan was to paint black(I dont need to attract any more Attention)The car is stripped out already(puling engine tomorow.)I just want to get this over with.
