Default Rear Lip Question

Well, today I put on my lip kit I ordered from street styler. Well, the front went on perfect. I went to put the rear on, and it was VERY tight fitting. I was able to force it on, but it didn't line up quite right. I kept it on tonight and was going to fix it Tuesday when I go to put my exhaust on. Well, I got home about 15 minutes ago and checked on it. The lip slipped off of the rear and hit my exhaust, causing it to melt. No biggie, I'm gonna order another.

My question is, when I looked at the backside after the incident, it says 96-98 4 door. I have a 97 Civic 2dr. Is there a slight difference in 2dr/4dr rear bumper? Enough that the lip wouldn't fit right? Thanks.

yes i believe the 4dr lip is a lil smaller. cause i remember someone trying to put a 2dr front end on a 4dr and they said the bumpers had to be forced on.

Thanks man. That's what I thought.

Anybody deal with Street Styler before? Since I just bought the lip like a week ago... I just don't know if I could get any kind of warrenty since it got melted because it dropped on my exhaust.

New lip is only $80, so it's no big deal, just curious, that's all.

I was always under the impression that they were the same bumpers. I used a 4 door front bumper on my 96 coupe and it fit fine.

And now that i think of it i've never really noticed any websites that advertise 96-98 rear lips for 4 doors and coupes differently...I've never really looked tho.

Yea, they are just a little bit smaller. My friend got the same kit for his, and got his rear lip and it fit perfect, mine was tight as **** and wouldn't fit hardly at all.
