Rear ended someone yesterday need some help/advise please
First things first, I'm not mechanical. I AM broke however, and this is really stressing me out. The car still SEEMS to run perfectly fine. It is not putting off any smoke or odors and only makes a very faint scratching noise when I take left turns. It does not seem to be of concern.
I guess my biggest thing now is a head light and a blinker. I suppose I can figure out my right hand signal and only drive in the day, but that's only a band aid.
I'm going to go get a quote done later today, but thought I would post up in a few forums for advise first. All suggestions/comments are greatly appreciated. I have found an eBay seller that sells primed hoods and fenders, do you think it would be cheaper if I bought the parts myself? Also, if I don't get them painted before I get them installed would i have to have them removed again down the line to be painted? If you happen to know someone who does good work in the SF Bay area, please let me know. Also, to me it looks like the bumper is totally fine, it was an SUV i hit after all. At this point I could care less about astetics.
Maybe it's time to start learning how to do things myself.... However seeing as how part of the frame is bent I do not know if I could manage that

Re: (EkFG)
pull your core support out to straighten out the frame. if you dont care about aestetics just bang out the fender so it fits, buy a new hood (safety issues, if the hood is bent up up front and looks pushed in around the latch youd have to bang it flat, which would be a pita and im sure youd then have issues with air getting under it and trying to blow it up)and rf light

EkFG, that makes me so happy to hear. I was told by a friend who told me he knew what he was talking about this was going to cost me upwards of 2,000+.
I wish I could do it myself but I have absolutely NO experience working on cars... I'm going to call some friends today to find out if someone can help me out though.
Thanks a bunch

So I'm going to call up my buddy today and tell him what needs to be done, please add anything you think I should...
1. Pull out core support to straighten the frame
2. Since I really don't care about aestetics TOO much right now, I can just bang out the fender so that it fits
3. Buy a new hood.
4. The hood is NOT latching... so I'm not sure what other problems I'm going to encounter...
Also - would i be better off purchasing these parts online through an eBay seller or can you usually find cheap parts at shops?
Thanks again

if the hood isnt latching it either
the latch is messed up
the hood is pushed to far back from the latch to catch
id guess on the hood issue for now.
you can get a certifit hood for fairly cheap, or an oem honda one for 350?ish

find a junkyard and buy the part thru them you might be better off doing that over ebay, plus they will be painted your color if you get lucky.

this is also a good option, just make sure it is for the correct body style for eks i belive 2/3dr are interchangable

If you're on a budget and in a rush:
Go to Certifit and buy a new hood, fender, and headlight. You'll probaly be able to salvage the bumper, but you may need a new grill. Drop off all your parts and car to the body shop andy they will repair it. Depending which body shop you go to, total cost of the repair should not run over $1k. Certifit parts do not fit as well as OEM parts but the body shop should be able to make it fit just fine.
In the meantime, proceed to get the quotes first and be sure to check different body shops. It might be easier and cheaper to just do that.
Good luck... and welcome to Honda-Tech.

http://www.car-part.com <-- Find parts in local salvage yards (no shipping, and used parts, so you might find a good deal).
Once you repair the car, get proper coverage.
