Default Rear disk brakes? Did I get lucky?

My LX has rear disk brakes, I hear a good bit of talk about swaping to rear disks on civics. Did I get lucky or did all the 92-95s get rear disks?

You got lucky, someone put them on there because they were only on the SI and EX from 92-95 AFAIK.

I also need a new master cylinder. As always I see this as a time to upgrade, should I? If so what whould be the ideal master cylinder/booster to go with for the 4 wheel disk?

For 96-00 civic that have ABS come with drums only. Only 99-00 Si have rear disc but no ABS option.

Best master cylinder upgrade would be a 91 Civic Si 15/16 master cylinder. There are 1 inch Integra master cylinders available, but there is no measureable gain between the 15/16 and a 1 inch. And it's more work while the 15/16 is a bolt-on replacement.

I don't know how that will affect your abs though. In fact, even changing to stickier tires and bigger rims can affect the abs...

Besides, with the 1" itr MC you'd have to expand the lines at one end or make an adapter so it plugs in correctly.

Screw the abs. The abs pump runs to much now. When you start it up the pump will just keep kicking in for a couple minutes. So I just want a master cylinder for a 91 Si?

The 92-95 EX ABS came with rear swaybar but a little smaller. And also the 99-00 si did too.

No. 1991 Si is till the crappy 13/16ths. You mean 1991 EX 4 door - it's 15/16ths. And since his car has ABS the hard line closest to the booster will NOT work because ABS fittings are bigger than non-ABS, so the 1991 anything will not work.

...but O.P check your current master cylinder and make sure it's not already a 7/8th unit - if it is 7/8 a 15/16ths isn't much of an "upgrade" at all. If I recall the ABS cars already have the bigger 7/8ths unit. If you really want an upgrade and don't mind the extra effort try a 94-95 Integra LS/GS/GS-R ABS booster and master cylinder. Again it might not make much, if any, difference in braking though.
