Rear Disc Brake Problem
I put rear disc brakes from an Integra under my 2000 Civic Ex Coupe yesterday. I also installed the proportioning valve from a 2000 SI. The problem is the rear brakes are not holding very well. Before anybody says anything I bled the **** out of them. I bled them like three times yesterday after the install. Has anyone ever had this problem before. Please let me know. Yes i also changed the brake lines and put new pads on.

What do you mean holding?
Grapping the disk? Or not locking up? Or do you feel your not stopping as well as you should be?

Re: Rear Disc Brake Problem (CRITTERMATT)
The brakes dont seam to be holding that well. The drivers side seams to be working better. I noticed the rust was worn off of the drivers side but the the passanger side looks as though only a little bit of the brake pad is grabbing the rotor. there is only a ring around the outside where the brake pad is grabbing the rotor.

pull your e-brake and try to move your car.
put shims behind your brake pads and check to see if the piston is seized
just giving ideas

Re: Rear Disc Brake Problem (shepworldwide)
Just throwing out ideas :
1 - Find a nice empty stretch of road and while driving, engage the parking break. See if the car pulls to one side. If the rear right caliper isn't engaging properly, then the car would pull to the left.
2 - Engage the parking brake and bleed the right rear caliper only. Check for any signs of leaks, etc.
It is VERY easy to not bleed the brakes properly.
Just noticed that you said that you installed the SI prop valve and bled the rears. When installing the rears, you MUST bleed all brake lines. Not just the rears. You should also take care to bleed them in the correct order :
RR, LF, LR, RF

Re: Rear Disc Brake Problem (kommon_sense)
I have pulled the emergency brake and it doesnt hold that well. I adjusted it to the point where when i pulled forward the rear end of the car would squat down but they never locked up. I used the emergeny brake cables form the Integra that i got the brakes from.
