rear brake drum conversion . . . NEED HELP ASAP....
Hey guys,
I am buying a rear brake conversion to replace my wack drums. I know i need several things. Does anybody have experience doing this ???
Things I know i need:
Actual Rear Disk Conversion, rotors, etc...
Master Cylinder
Brake Booster
and a Proportioning Valve.
o...and SS Brake Lines
I have read several articles stating you need a proport. valve that says 4040 on it. I have looked around and all i can find are 3030 valves. WILL THOSE WORK ????
let me know asap, doing the conversion tomorrow.

Re: rear brake drum conversion . . . NEED HELP ASAP.... (Phantastic)
i know that much...lol...i thought most prop valves on the tegs were 3030 and i didn't know if that was proportionate like the 4040 on the later model si 99-00.
i want the best proportion for a del sol. 30/40, 25/40, 30/30, 40/40.
what is the best ?

You've got to use the porportioning valve from an Integra or an EG or a Del Sol with rear disc for your swap. Anything else.. and you have to move the hard lines (which is a bitch).
You can use the rear assemblies off of an 93-97 Del Sol, 94-01 Teg or a 99-00 Si. Get the SS brake lines for a Del Sol with rear disc. Might as well replace the pads and rotors while your at it too. And get a brake bleeder, because you gotta do the whole system.
and on a side note.. I've got a 98 GSR porp valve for sale.

Re: (johnecon2001)
I am getting Brembo drilled/slotted rotors front and back, whole conversion, with new AEM pads for $200.
not too bad of a deal. what do u guys think ? the swap is coming off a del sol si so i think it really is just plug and play isn't it ?

Dont get slotted, just get blanks.
What do you mean whole conversion?
40/40 is the prop valve you need.
If your running a Del Sol (from your name) you want Del Sol E brake cables too.
