I should probably already know this, but is there a tool i can get a hold of that will measure my rpms for me? I need to play with the idle a little and I would like to be able to read what rpms I'm at. Is there something I can buy or use to read that and if so what is it called?

Yea a tachometer tells you the rpm.

I know at least some cars do have a "test tachometer connector". I'm not 100% sure what they do with that, but it might help you.

thankyou smart asses, i never knew that's what a tach is for. Actually, mine is a dx, and i haven't swapped the gauge cluster yet, so i don't have a tach. And i was curious as to wether or not there was something i could just connect up for 5 minutes or something rather than spending $80 on a gauge cluster with a tach right now.

i can't open that for some reason, but i have a tach that isn't part of a cluster, i'm gonna try and rig it up without pulling out the cluster, and see if i can't make something work.

If you don't have a program that reads PDFs then it won't open. It really doesn't say much besides it's a Honda document that actually mentions the test tachometer connector.

Heh wasn't being a smartass.If you want accurate shifting and some assurance that your not going to blow your engine,you will need a tach anyway so why not just buy one?
