RC 550 injectors bad for 200 hp build?
I got a set of RC 550 injectors that are brand new.
build is a b16a with ctr pistons. b16 head stage 2 blox cams, BC SS valves, springs retainers, blox manifold, 68mm TB, aem fuel rail, blox FPR and B&M guage. the head has been ported and polished by a friend who has a flow bench. so hes dropping it off at the machine shop for a valve job. exhaust is a hytek replica for now with 2.5" mandrel bent to a 2.5 es muffler.
im on s300 also
ive always heard ppl say use the right injector size for the build.
im only shooting for like 210-220 hp on this build but i recently lost my job so no more income at the moment. can I use these injectors and use s300 to adjust for the bigger injector?
the motor will be broke in on the dyno either through erik or church.
it will be tuned on pump gas. can I use these or do I need to sell em and get smaller ones?

i would think that 550cc is WAY too high for a build of that caliber....im running 310cc injectors on my JDM ITR which is around 200hp and many people say they are unnecessary. the stock ITR ones are 270 i believe, so its not TOO much of a jump but a little bit....550 seems like an awful lot though....do you have fuel rail? fuel pump? fuel pressure regulator?

aem fuel rail, GSR fuel pump, blox FPR.
reason im asking is because I know in s300 you can tune to what injector your running im just not sure how to do it. if I need to sell them and get smaller ones I will im just trying to save a lil bit of money here so I can afford a tune

310's will be PLENTY for what your going to achieve with a NA setup....if youve got the $$$ to get to a point where you need bigger than 310cc injectors, spending another $200 on new bigger injectors will be as easy as taking a leak when you first wake up in the AM.
Sell those 550's, sell the turbo setup, buy some of the little things youve been thinking about ( theres always something ) to spruce up your ride a little, get it tuned and rock the **** out of it....

well how much do you think I can get out of this.
garrett T04 BB turbo fresh rebuilt.
turbonetics FMU (used)
Turbonetics mark IV waste gate (used)
blitz blow off valve (used)
RC 550 injectors (new)
one intercooler from an evo (used)
and a universal big *** intercooler (new) guy said he paid 300 for it when he got it.
I wasnt planning on going turbo so I dont know how much any of this stuff is worth

Re: RC 550 injectors bad for 200 hp build?
personally, when i try to find a price for used parts...i do a couple of things...
1. how much brand new?
2. how many made? (if a rare part/product)
3. condition of part/product
4. search for others selling similar parts and there prices
5. think of how much you would be willing to accept for each piece
6. post a little higher than what your bottom dollar is, people are ALWAYS going to haggle on price
remember that this stuff is doing you no good sitting in your garage, if someone makes you a DECENT offer, take it. Better to sell for $25 less than what you wanted then to sit on it and never get rid of it....do some research and youll find your answers

Re: RC 550 injectors bad for 200 hp build?
the 550's will do just fine for your setup, the only reason people say "pick the right injectors for the right setup" is because 700 and up injectors are kinda hard to get to idle nice, but i never had a problem with 550's which I maxed out at 350whp...

Re: RC 550 injectors bad for 200 hp build?
I talked to a guy at a local shop and he told me I can turn down the duty cycle with the 550's and they will work just fine. he said if I had any problem at all it would be under 2000 rpm's it would sputter a little bit

with the S3 it'll work fine but i'd recommend selling the 550s and buy soem 310s. you'll have extra cash left over also for the tuning.

I agree with the above.... My good friend and amazing honda tuner says exactly the same thing. A good tune can run any size injectors, and your s300 should easily be able to adjust to any size. I say keep em. sell the other stuff and you'll always have enough room for future builds, cause we all know you are eventually gonna wanna bring that HP up!
