Random Knock Sensor Code??
I have a 92 DX Hatch with a 2nd Gen B16. The last couple of days, I will be driving at warm temperature and my check engine light comes on. By the time I pull over to check it, the light goes off. This has happened about 5 times so far. I finally got the code 23 (Knock Sensor) yesterday, but I can't seem to figure out why it is so intermittenent. I've re-set the ECU a couple of times too. Has anyone else had this problem?? I am very frustrated with it at this point, so any clue would be great. Thanks!!
When you ran the knock sensor wire, did you make sure that the wire you used was shielded? It is likely that it is picking up odd voltages around the unshielded wire and therefore setting the knock sensor off.
Hey, thank you for replying. We actually got it figured out though. The Knock sensor was broken in half and just kind of sitting there barely making a connection. it looked ok, but when it was taken out, it fell into two pieces. Thank you for the help though, much appreciated.
