Rally Civic
Went to my first Rally today up here in Houghton Michigan. It was really cool to watch. I was suprised at the hondas I saw. on top of this one, I saw an DC5 that fucked up its quarter panel and was dangling his exhaust, and a 2nd gen CRX. It was raining like crazy when the Pro rally cars were driving, so I didn't get to take a picture of them.

or right hand braking lol
Oh, and one of the Pro Rally cars was an SRT4. Some guy who was I standing next to goes to his body "thats not FWD, thats 4wd. Its not a Neon, its an SRT4" I was too cold and wet to correct him.

Re: Rally Civic (asmallsol)
haha right hand braking. But seriously you need left foot braking for rally. It is a combination of throttle modulation with the right foot and the left foot presses the brake pedal SIMULTANEOUSLY. The point of this is to shift the weight of the car forward, surprisingly it works although at first glance it seems counter intuitive. So once the car weight is place forward it then pushes the front wheels down and get better traction and since your pushing the gas pedal it wll claw its was around a corner better.

Lol, you must of read my post wrong. I didn't race, I just spectated. I want to rally though. It would be fun as hell.
The hardest part about a rally like this is since there was a ton of loose gravel, plus it was raining, the FWD cars pushed like crazy.

mmm. IMO it is pretty shitty. I couldn't get a good spot to take pictures (across the road would have gotten a much better veiw, but as soon as I walked to my spot, the course was already hot so I couldn't cross) Also, since it was raining so much, I was just turning the camrea on when I saw the car coming down the straight, and by the time the car got there, I only had time to point and click. If it wasn't raing, I would have set the camera to do mutliple shots with .2 seconds delay between pics, so I would have been able to get much better "sideways" shots.

Re: Rally Civic (alleyezonme)
Well the civic pictured did alright. It was actually the last of all the hondas at least for the stage that I saw. I only saw the one stage, so I don't know the final outcome. The prosche held its own, and was in the middle of the pack.

Porsches have been rallying for years. . . . . check out the 959 doing the Paris-Dakar back in 1986
