Radio - Problems playing some CDs [Please Help]
So, I have a 00 Civic Ex. Stock radio/cd deck. Eventually will upgrade to aftermarket, but for now, figured burning some CD's would work. So I picked up some Memorex 80 Min CD-R's. I tried burning one with iTunes, put it in my car, didn't work. Gave me an error and spit it out. I put it in my Dad's 08 Sierra and it worked perfectly. So, I got another blank, and tried using Nero, made sure to close it yada yada, same exact situation... What am I doing wrong..? Will the stock just not play em? Or do I need to burn it differently?

Worked fine. Also, I found an old CD-R laying around, put that in and it worked. So, guess I'm just not burning it correctly for my car..? Any tips?

Burn @ 1x, try a different brand of CD-R.
I used to have the split radio/CD setup and Memorex and Sony always worked for me. This player was rather picky with burned CD-Rs, understandable given when this was designed.
It's obviously not going to play MP3 files on a CD-R. Always burn as CD audio.
--->>> Best option: Get head unit with iPod interface.

Better than best option: A head unit with aux input, or USB input. Then you get your music how you want it, without supporting a company that is ok with employees who would rather commit mass suicide than work, and without supporting a company that would rather litigate than innovate!

You're right. You should get a Zune made by a real innovator and the appropriate head unit!

Also, anyone who confuses a Galaxy S3 with an iPhone 4S is a moron.

This is a tech forum, not a legal or ethical forum, right?
Apple integration in aftermarket head units rule the day and I'm not sure how their *technical* superiority can be contested? They have the most complete feature support from nearly all the top and mid-tier manufacturers.
Maybe Jensen or Craco supports Linux/BSD/generic USB after hacking their firmware (in order to stick it to the man) and would better suit your politics??
Anyhow --

What's the best (free/trial) software for that? And, is there a specific way I need to convert it to CD audio. And, I agree with jbpnoman, that Apple is horrible. They practically come out with the same iPhone every release. And they are just now putting features on the iPhone that Android has had for years. (Proud Android owner).

<--- Alpine CDA 9884 w/ Ipod integration (or whatever you want to call it) and wont have it any other way.
I really like being able to go thru my Ipod on the HU.
Anyways, OP if you decide to upgrade it now/soon take a look at these.

I LOVE alpine, but I ****ing hate the fact they got rid of the rid of the HU's the fold the faceplate to put the CD in.
