Radio code?
I searched but didn't get much.
My mom drives a 2000 Civic sedan and I'm buying her car off of her within the next few weeks. The radio doesn't work and we changed the battery about a month ago but since I'm getting the car, I'd like the radio to work. Should I go to Honda and ask for the code?
BTW, I called about 4 months ago and they said we needed a new radio and then they would give us a new code, and they said it'd be $400, so I don't believe that. Thanks for any help guys,
-Matt.

without that radio code that radio is useless. your better off going out and getting a aftermarket deak at your local best buy or some other store like that. the honda dealership will reem you a new a hole for a oem radio. or buy a used oem one on ebay or on the market place here. best of luck

You need the serial number off the radio. You have to remove the radio to do it. With the available aftermarket radios through Crutchfield (and other for first timers) why not just upgrade for $100-200 and get something nicer?

Give me the serial number and I'll get you the code if you really want, I manage a body shop and have connections, but I still agree with overspooled, go with an aftermarket unit.

Do you suggest any radio's that look OEM compared to Honda's? I plan on doing a system any ways, but I'm using an iTrip to listen to music too..
