Default Quick...will a 91 Si axle (D16A6) fit a 97 EX (D16Y8)?

I'm wondering if my buddy's 91 Si driver's axle will fit my 97 civic EX.

I understand that both of our cars are d-series, but can you use EF axles from a 91 Si on a 96-00 civic?

It's about 20 degrees here today, and I just need a temporary axle fix until spring comes.
