Default Quick TB Question

Can I use a OBD 1 TB from a 94 GSR on my 99 B16 SI motor? Seems like the sensors are in the same spot but their is that thing on the bottom of the GSR TB. I am having a bad idle problem and had this TB sitting around so I was going to swap them out to see if it helped.

Thanks

what kind of idle problems are you having? lets make sure its the TB before you have to tear it apart.

OK well it idles really high at about 2000 and when its not doing that it is going up and down up and down from 2500 to 500 or so bout once a sec. I have already taken apart the IACV and cleaned it. I also cleaned the TB itself and wiped it cleaned. So my next step that I was going to do was swap out the TB and sensors and see if that helped.

dude i have the same problem. i did the same exact things. i have another tps sensor i was gonna put on and calibrate, but i was bout to look for leaks first just no time lately. all you have to do is spray carb cleaner or something around your manifold hoses, as soon as the idle drops you found your vacuum prob.

start the car, cover that port with your finger.. and watch your idle drop to a nice 700rpm. go buy a vacuum plug tomorrow at autozone or something.

you're welcome. next problem?

or just get some hose that fist the port and shove a bolt or screw in the hose...then shove the hose on the port...no need to buy anything for this fix
