quick answer please, valve cover gasket

Default quick answer please, valve cover gasket

this is for an accord, but that forum is slow. this is a general question anyways.

do i have to use hondabond or that rtv sealant on a valve cover gasket. i dont have any ATM.

search is down....typical huh.

also if i need that sealant, i just put it on the parts where the flat pieces next to the curves are correct?

I've never used any type of sealant on the valve cover gasket.

hondabond is rtv and permatex ultra gray is hondabond (permatex makes a copper one which is suposted to be better), put some at the corners of the valve cover

i havent either, it will be fine i have taken my VC on and off many times and it has never leaked.

I have done both (used it and not used it). They have never leaked. Just make sure everything is clean when you put it back together/on. If you do use it, just put it on the corners.
