Questions on lowering my car.
Yesterday, I finally got rims put on my coupe, 17" gunmetal w/ polished lip. Like I thought, the car is now monster truck style. I need to lower my car, I'm deinitely looking at Eibachs, but a lot of my friends tell me I'm gonna need a camber kit, some say I dont. Im probably just looking at getting coilovers, maybe springs. Whats best? Should I get shocks? I know nothing about suspension, I already seached but everything was pretty broad. Please help.

I have skunk2 coilovers with a tokico illumina shocks. I like the setup. Nice ride height and pretty comfortable for being slammed.

you should get coilovers if you want to raise your car up and down for winter months. you dont have to get shocks/struts unless you want to. your stock struts will be ok but it will ride a little better with aftermarket struts. camber kit wise, if you get one, you will not have as mush wear on the inside of your tires, but if you do not get one it will be fine, just wear on the inside of the tires more. i have skunk 2 coilovers on mine with kyb agx struts and its still bouncy sometimes. i have heard that skunk2 and ground control are good coilovers. hope all this info helps a little

Get shocks... what ever you do... Get shocks
Get shocks... don't say your going to get them later.... Get shocks
Get shocks... don't say I'm going to wait till my stock shocks blow... Get shocks

I've heard your stock ones are fine, but new ones are definitely better... Are shocks DEFINITELY needed?

yes, there just fine for stock springs or cut springs.
Stiffer springs = Stiffer shocks
But I'm pretty sure you're not going to listen to me so do what the hell you want.
If you want just the look of being lowered there is no need to get shocks.
If you want your car to handle the same or better than get shocks.

Well.... you could ride without a camber kit. NOT WISE.... If you have a drop that is more than 1inch you will begin to ride on you the inside of the tire (GREAT way to rip right through those brand new tires). When you shift all of the weight of the car onto smaller patches of tire, they wear down quicker. Kind of like when you rub an eraser on a pencil on its side. You may not be able to notice a visual diference in the camber of your wheels, however it is there. If you are going as low as 2+ inches, I'd definately recommend getting a chamber kits in the front. You can always use the washer trick in the back.
Just my opinion and I'm sure alot of people on here will disagree with me, but that up to you to decide.

Bumppy ride for sure either way... but i'd go with coil overs if you plan on using this car for the winter so you can raise it, but if it's a summer toy car... go with springs, and like the one guys said if it's just for looks, keep your stock struts but if you want performance go with some new aftermarket ones
