lets not forget valvetrain upgrades for the cam. Then tuning.
So for around 1000 bucks, you can get that cam and will give you 15whp.
D series need alot of cash to make them perform. Usually boost solves the problem.
I would look to a 50 shot over a cam. Cheaper and still retain MPGs with power on demand.

Stop listening to whoever told you this...They're obviously not up to date on their car knowledge. As for the cam, there are a few cheaper options (Zex 59300 is a common one) but you wont see much of a power gain, no matter the cam you use. Without boost, d series engines are kind of worthless...Save your money instead of bothering with NA parts

Re: questions about modifying d16
how is gaining an extra 10 lb ft of torque and 7hp a waste ?(99+ b20) and for the other remark. Um yah it is sorry to break it to you but an extra 22lb ft of torque and 34hp IS noticeable . That's not factoring in the better gearing and the greater potential of b-series over a D, I'd say the same with a k20 over a b18c5....big difference.
