Question what type of Tranny to use on a ls engine
What would be the best tranny on a ls a b16a 1 lsd tranny that I can buy off tigerjapanese.com for $900 or what are my other options for a type of tranny. What kind of mods can I do to get higher rpms on a stock ls without doing too much ($)

a tranny will get you shorter gears but you wont be revving any higher. its going to take some $$$ to be revving like the B series VTEC motors so i would suggest turbo over that.
just curious what car do you drive?

Nuff said. OEM ITr tranny will be your best bet if you have the money. There's a few on ebay for ~$1000

Since I'm the only one that's posting that actually owns an LS and have had every tranny but an ITR tranny on it...
Get a GSR tranny and a lightened flywheel. My B16 tranny puts me in 5th at the end of the track with a stock flywheel. 3rd gear pulls really hard and doesn't fall out of the powerband like a hydro LS tranny does. GSR tranny was the best tranny that I've had and I'm putting it back in my car. It's good for boost and it's the best N/A for an LS since they don't rev to 8,000+ rpms. You really don't need LSD unless you have a turbo car or a really fast all motor car. You can get your car tuned and they can up your rev limit but I wouldn't suggest it on a stock LS head. The valves will start to float revving it high on stock internals and then you have a chance of sucking a valve.
