Default Question: Installed sway and was wondering.....

My car is lower than 3" and i installed a GSR rear sway w/o any subframe reinforcement. took it for a drive and everything was okay, will i have any problems?? im worried because the sway seems to be stressed quite a bit cuz my car is really low. Any answer would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

Custom end links maybe for the sway bar?
I dont think there would be a real problem.

there's been numerous horror stories of sways ripping out subframes. it's a generally good idea to install reinforcement, just in case. good luck otherwise.

Well it's mostly EK's that tear subframes, but i can't imagine ours being much stronger, The other thing is if your springs are harder than stock (which they pretty much have to be to be that low) the anti-roll bar puts a lot less strain on it's attachment points since much more work is done by the springs.

::EDIT:: BTW sexy car

i doubt a gsr rear sway bar will ever rip out that frame, its like 15mm if i recall, and most people who have ripped theres are using 18-22 mm rears

regardless of the 3mm difference, i'd do it for piece of mind.

but it's not my car, his decision.

15mm wont tear off subframe..even 3000mm wont, the place where is tear off, is the rear cross member. if you want to go hardcore, weld the **** when you install it. Or, if you have the money to blow, put a DC2/EK9 for EG/EK.

Nothing wrong with getting a reinforcement brace but you dont need one. I have never heard of a EH ripping because of sway bars, its usually 96 and up. But thats also from serious driving, not daily.

Wait, the gsr rear sway (14mm) comes with it's own mounting bracket. There's the sway bar that attaches to the bushing bracket and that attaches to a square bracket thing that attaches to the subframe. Did you use all those parts?

Nice hatch.

yes, i used all those pieces, my only main concern was if having my car too low would cause any harm, but judging from most replys i'll be fine. im getting 8k springs for the rear in a couple days so hopefully i'll be okay, btw, thanks for all the complements on the car.

just make a plate out of mild steel, recetangle that attacks from 1 side of the lca bolt to the other, then drill your holes for your sway bar mounts, etc.
