Question about Z6 dizzy
Hello everyone, thanks for looking. I just put in a used dizzy on a swap from a mini-me setup and I'm getting cel 9.....CYP code. Originally my setup was a mini-me modified somewhat....I had the entire engine except the dizzy but everywhere I read said that I had to do the mini-me swap to make the engine run in my '90 hatch. Had I known how easy the OBD 1 changes would have been I would have just dropped the engine in and made the ecu wiring changes.
Actually, that's what I've finally done. I ran the modified mini-me setup for over 20k miles back and forth to work before finally deciding to get more power and put the original intake and P28 ecu in my hatch. Since I didn't have a dizzy, I got one from a friend's '93 engine. The Z6 engine that I have is a '95....so is the ECU. I've never had any problems on the mini-me and it ran great....I just wanted a touch more power.
What I'm wondering now is whether or not the used dizzy that I borrowed is any good. Since I can't find anywhere that shows a method of troubleshooting just the sensors in the dizzy, I was hoping someone here could figure it out. I've ohm'ed the sensors and they all come out about the same.....300ish ohms or so I think....not positive on that reading. However, all three read very close to the same reading. This, of course, led me to believe the dizzy was okay. Tomorrow I'm going to run a shielded cable for just those 2 wires and see what that does.
Thanks for the help everyone and sorry this is so long.
