Default Question About a V-tec Controller

I was wondering if I installed a window swtich on a EX V-tec civic and unplug the stock wire running to the v-tech and hook up the switch in its place. Will I get a engine light?

Thanks.

Because the VTEC controller that came with the car can do a much better job than you can at controlling the x-over point. You'll be too busy shifting, watching traffic, etc. to have a hand busy with a switch.

A friend of mine made is own and would turn it on all the time at low rpms. It sound cool for a month and then it started burning oil and blew up. It was a 00 si with an exhaust and thats it. so its not a great ideal

if you guys would use your mind a bit....a TRUE window switch had the "switch"activated with a Pill.....have you guys seen MSD's switches?? they have duel and single......

the dule turns on whatever Object according to the pill you install and turns it off at the set RPM with the 2nd pill installed...

the single just turns whatever one after that rpm and turns it off when it drops under.......

very good and cheap Idea my opinion.....

Edit: just use it wisely, drop the vtec a few 100 rpm's, not 1k or anything its a SOHC vtec.....what is it stock?? 5700k??? drop it to like 5k and play with pills between 5k and 5.7k......

EDIT: you beat me to it...haha

I know it will work but not sure about the check engine light.....

Then again I believe I've seen it used on EF's where they don't want to add the vtec wires etc etc...haha, I'm non vtec so I forget...
