Question about swapping engines...
My friend has a built motor in his 2000 Si and was going to boost it but decided not to and now wants to sell the car. I don't know all of the details on the build except that it was bored and everything is forged. And I have a 2000 Si with a stock engine.
So he and I are working out a deal to swap engines and I am wondering how do we make the swap legit??? Are there serial numbers or a vin number on the head or block that need to be swapped as well??? Someone please enlighten me, any info is appreciated. Thanks!

you both write bill of sale or trade for the motor. as long as its not stolen it will be fine. if you try to take out the vin or the vin is damaged in any way they consider the block stolen. hope that helps...also this has nothing to do with tech

As long as the motors aren't stolen you can try to get the motor BAR'd and both of you can write each other Bill of Sales with the copy of the original pink slip.

The motors are not stolen and both coming out of originial vehicles.
So we will have to do a bill of sale then. What does BAR'd mean???
By the way, it's tech related because we will be swapping engines.

That's the first thing I picked up.
He's from Chicago, nobody cares there .
AT OP:
Don't worry about anything, just get a bill of sale for the trade.
