Re: Question about my new HX (FlatCivic)
Overall I don't think the HX is that bad of a car.
Two major differences I can think of off the top of my head are the HX has VTEC-E, which is an economy version of the SOHC VTEC (which is already economy oriented to begin with), and the HX also has a CVT transmission.
On the same token, I wouldn't really say that's there anything that much better about a HX as opposed to an EX. Seems like I remember seeing a thread somewhere of someone trying to make a case that the HX cams were more aggressive/better than the EX cams...

Re: Question about my new HX (TurboEM1)
HX is the hotness! The cam has no overlap between intake and exhaust, making it a better candidate for a turbo than a EX IMO. Also the wheels are good enough that you can just throw some Azenis or Hankooks on and call it a day. The EX you will have to buy new wheels or everyone will laugh at you and call you "caps" if you don't.
EX has a much better tranny, but you can pick one up for ~$250-350 and put it in you HX. The EX also has better front brakes, but with either the HX or the EX you will probably change to Integra brakes later anyway.

Re: Question about my new HX (jolt-tsp)
I love my HX. my 99 is at 180k without a single problem. Im having a hard time justifiying doing a swap, the motor is flawless. And after 180k, i still get 34mpg.
Here is one of the more extensive post on the HX; they are dozens more, just type "d16y5" into the search function(archieved) and about 4 pages of stuff comes up.

Also, the author of the above thread; "spade" has several good write-ups on the y5 and sohc engines in general.
