Question about a heat shield on the AEM short ram intake...
Does anybody know a place to buy some sort of heat shield that will fit my AEM short ram? Reason I ask is because the intake is sucking in too much hot air.
Does anybody know where I can buy one or a DIY on how to make my own?
TIA

How do you figure that?
Air temp has about 5% to do with power gains from an intake and velocity harmonics make up the other 95%. Velocity harmonics are determined by the shape air filter, and the diameter and bends of the intake tube. That is what you pay for when you buy AEM, they are dyno tuned for the specific engine. A heat shield my get you a small fraction of a hp, not enough of a difference to even notice.

Because the filter is starting to 'warp'
Or is that normal for most short ram intakes?

What part is warping? The metal mesh? The filter pleats? The actual plastic that the filter assembly is made of?
