question about custom exhaust
well, what's done is done. So, I'll prolly not change it. I was just wondering I recently got a custom cat-back exhaust and being custom it was crush bent. Oh BTW, it's on a 97 HX. Anyways, I know that a 2.25 is about the max for my car but I went w/ a 2.5 since it was crush bent. The guy at the shop told me that in the bends it would be the same size as a 2.25 mandrel. So, does everyone agree or does the crush bent suck ***? Being crush bent would it be more restrictive than a normal 2.25 mandrel???

Re: (rxse7n)
p.s. I didn't have a resonator put on so you'll have to subtract that from resistance.

Re: question about custom exhaust (VogueSilverHX)
I forget the actual measurments that are used for
the flow of exaust. I picked up a lot of usless info
from my many trips to 30 minute muffler. Ill say
what he told me, im not saying its right, but this
is how it has been explained to me.
The difference from crush bends to manderal bends
are not going to make a noticable difference unless
its on a very very high hp car. Crush bends at 2.25
are still "okay" to use on cars with up to like 400 hp
or some crazy number like that. I wish I knew more
about the way these things are measured, I would
be able to explain it better.
I was under the impression that manderal bends make
a better sound then the crushed, and me not being
as concerened with performance as much as a shitty
sounding exaust, I think I would have to go with
the manderal bends.

Actually I like the sound of this exhaust better than any mandrel.
It's probably because the restriction in the bends but, it sounds a lot deeper than most SOHC Civics
