Question about custom exhaust??
I was thinking about getting custom exhaust piping and I was wondering what a resonator is? Someone told me I need to get one to make the exhaust not be loud. How many do I need? What size would I need? Would it be the same size as the piping?

A resonator quiets your exhaust. You dont need one but its good to have. Get it the same size as your exhaust pipping.

a resonator usually quiets down the exhaust and more often than not, gets rid of that "attack of the bees" sound. i'd prefer a quiet exhaust so id get the biggest resonator i could find. if you go to a muffler shop you could probably get like a 22" resonator. and about the piping size, get the same size as the piping.

What do you mean by "and about the piping size, get the same size as the piping"?

You will want to get a resonator that is the same diameter as the rest of your exhaust tubing. For example, if you're having a 2.25" exhaust made, you will use a 2.25" diameter resonator.

On a resonator are there 2 different sizes? MiMiK said to get a 22" resonator. Would I get 22" resonator with 2.5" piping?

exactly. It's always a good idea to get one, doesn't hurt anything really.
