Nope i tried doing that kinda swap for my 97 civic to a 00 climate control its a lot different because of the a/c or heater control unit how the 96 is a sliding crap for cold or hot and the 00 is a turning **** so u need the whole unit its kinda expensive for just having he 00 look

it will not fit, it will not plug in. im not going to get into again, but you have to change EVERY wire and plug if you dont get the entire 99-00 dash and heater box, and blower motor box.
It can be done though, but it aint no cluster swap.
search again, use the search term "climate control" and make sure to choose archived topics. comes up for sure.

Re: Question about climate control (tonyxcom)
thanks tony.. searched on your recent posts or wutnot
If you have a 99-00 non-si civic, and you want to make your climate control amber, all you need are 4 bulbs with the amber gelcaps on them. You should be able to get them at the dealership for under 20 bux.
if you have a 96-98 hatch, and you want to make your climate control amber, you need 2 bulbs (from an SI) and 7 amber LEDs from radio shack for a total of about 20 as well, but you have to solder the LEDs in.
I did it to mine, it looks great!
thanks!

The LED's you're talking about...Are those where the buttons are? Just trying to picture this in my head...What color are the buttons to begin with? White?

Re: Question about climate control (ThunderLipps)
the buttons are green, the defroster is amber, and the ac is blue I believe. I changed all of them to amber.

They use funny shaped LEDs. The cel phone ones will be too small, and probably at the wrong voltage. I got some 3.3 volt ones, becuause that was the voltage I was reading at the stock LED, but they are really bright, so I figure that some 6v ones would be better, just haven't gotten around to getting them yet.
You need to get a flat led, but I got round ones and put flat spots on them with my dremel and a sanding drum. Go slow, the drums will eat through the leds like butter. I dont know what size it is, but you know the standard size LED, its like 3-5mm diameter.
You would be better off getting flat leds, they make them, but radio shack doesnt stock them, so you would have to goto an electronics store to get them. There is a store near me that has them, I just been too lazy to go through all the work again. Maybe I could go get a bunch, pre-bend them to the correct length and sell them or something.
Its not hard to do, just make sure you get the polarity correct when you solder in the new leds.

Re: Question about climate control (h00kup)
if you have all the stuff tony said it is a pretty easy swap. I was going to do it to mine but ended up finding something better to spend the money on (B20 coming soon) NEw the parts are $1000 from manchester honda they sell it as sort of a kit but don't market it as a conversion just a replacement. Used you are still looking around $650-700. You don't need the entire dash though just the center section. The problem wit the swap is that the older ones are directly manual while the newere ones have an "electronic box"for lack of a better term to control it. Good luck though
