Question about buying a civic hatch
Not new to the scene, just returning after a long absence. I am looking for another car and ran acroos what I thought to be a winner, here's the specs: 2000 civic hatch in silver, 17" Enkei wheels and VIS carbon fiber hood included with the stockers, Jackson racing supercharged GSR motor, eibach springs KYB ( I think) sus. GSR brake conversion, SI front seats and dash, Kenwood DVD pop up Polk audio speakers and dsoem othe assorted goodies. The asking price is $9,990 with 81,XXX on the chassis and 60,XXX on the motor swap. Sounds great right? Well the car has flood damage and I am a bit concerned about it. I want a hatch, always have, but I NEED something dependable to get back and forth to work. I am almost to the mindset of **** it I want the car just buy it and stop bitching but the logical side of my brain just won't let me make a $9000 error. Suggestions?....anyone.....anyone.....Bueller?.... ..Bueller?.....

If dependable is what you're looking for, don't try to find it in a water damaged + GSR/JRSC swapped hatchback.
Dependable = stock hatchback, IMO.

Car that has been modified and raced=not reliable in my book
And for 9k I think you could do better looking for a stock hatch if a reliable car is your main objective.

Never buy a car that has been modded by someone else.
Thats just my philosophy about buying cars. You never know what they could've done wrong.
