Putting obd2a B16 in 00 Civic Ex - Need some wiring help with OBD2 harness.
Okay,
So Im putting an obd2a B16 in a 2000 Civic Ex. Everything worked just fine. But the fuel pump is not kicking over. All grounds are great but I traced the problem back to a Plug on the Drive side strut tower I believe. Dont quot me on this I Could be completely wrong... here's the situation.
My harness on my b series, where it connects to the body harness on the driver side strut tower.. Has 8 pin and 2 big ones. all are use and have wire to them. On the car harness, it has 8 pins on the plug and two big ones also. but only 6 pins are used. I dont know if this is my problem but I believe it could be. The ones that are missing from the ex harness are A baby blue wire and a brown wire with black stripe.. but i dont see why the it would matter these are missing.. but just mayb. because if the car harness doesn't have them, it wouldn't be looking for the 2 extra wires that the motor harness has...
correct me if im wrong.
working with driver side plug.. do these matter?
2000 EX harness, Missing blue and brown wire.
Motor Harness. has blue and brown wire.
motor is cranking! just no fuel pump. Someone help.

Fixed it. the problem was the ecu had to be a 99-00 si ecu because i was putting it in a 00 ex. the 3rd plug on the ecu is built into the body harness on obd2b cars. Did not know that before this. so i switched the harness to obd2b harness with a 99-00 si ecu.
