exactly that is the most efective way of doing it what ever u do do not use a punch it will make the clip expand it has little teeth on it that tightin it so as he said just use that deep 8mm and a hammer and bang her out(i always had that problem to i got to the point of i just un bolted the whole shift linkage and dropped the trans and pulled it out connected

I didnt paint it I bought it that way, jsut looks rattle caned dont think its powdercoated. It will work for now, while I build the other block over time, gonna have doing that the right way. I cant wait til its light out so I can get this motor out, all I have left are 4 hoses the suspension stuff and that stupid pin then out she comes.

just keep beating it. my advice to you is to try to get the car higher in the air, so you have more room to swing the 4lbs. hammer.

What kind of computer you gonna run now? You are going to have to disable some sensors... OBDIIB comps are gonna be looking for the knock sensor that you will not have, same with the CFS (crank fluctuating sensor) it is on the oil pump (if you swap the oil pump out then it should be alright). You will def. need a P28 and a conversion harness to keep from throwing CELs.

p.s. sorry I don't know about the oil cooler thingy...

I swaped out oil pumps, so that wont be an issue, where is the knock sensor located? i transfered all sensors from my old block to the new one, the old block is bare...

it is on the back of the block...near the oil filter. I will see if someone has a shot of it.

Edit: (Black plug) this may help you locate to see if you have one. https://honda-tech.com/zero...age=1 I don't think any pre-OBDII blocks had them, I could be wrong with the B16A. I DO know for sure that all OBDII ecu's look for the sensor, if it isn't there it will throw a code. The way around it is to get a P28 (92-95 civic EX/SI ecu) and a conversion harness. The p28 doesn't look for that sensor because the D16z6 doesn't have a knock sensor.

so the latest update still waiting on fedex to deliver some stuff tomorrow. I have the motor back together, tranny on and everything that can be done is done. The motor should be in tomorrow, hope to have it running by tomorrow night. Anyone have any tips for putting the motor back in??? Also how are you all filling the tranny fluid, a guy at a local shop told me to take out the speed sensor and use a long funel and fill it that way, any more tips?

so check engine light came on yesterday, just got the codes pulled. Showed slow response from the front o2 sensor, and load detector high voltage. Does this mean the front o2 sensor needs replaced? also what does that second one mean??never heard of anything like that before, any ideas
