Default Proper tire pressure

Hi All,

I have a quik question,
I just purchased a set of wheels with tires, and was
just wondering what the proper tire pressures would be for
a DelSol running 205/40-16inch wheels.
This is not for racing, just all-terrian use.
Thank you.

What do you want - maximum wear? Maximum comfort? Maximum steering performance? Maximum starting traction (drag racing)?

The answer to your question depends on what you want.

Oh,
Just for regular street driving, I live in the city so
pot holes and debris would be a consideration.
Thanks.

i dont think theres any one right answer..i used 34/33...and on my current 235/45/17 s i use 36..just as long as u dont under inflate or overly inflate the tires..its a matter of personal preferance in between the # sign s.

Hi Khoalie
Is there a particular reason for the higher pressure in the rear,
I thought generally, you would put more in the front where most of
the weight and impact will be.

well since i cant afford a rear swaybar on my car i just jack the rear pressures up.
excessively high tire pressures lower the tires grip by reducing the contact patch.
i use this the have a more balanced feel through turns rather than mild understeer.
but you are right in saying the fronts usually have more pressure.
for a daily driver setup i would run something more like 35f/32r

hope this helps
