I have a 2000 Civic Ex. My old remote died a couple weeks ago, so I bought a new one on ebay and tried to program it myself and have had no luck. The instructions that were given to me were the same as all the instructions I found on the internet by turning the key to the on and off positions and pressing the locking button on the remote. The problem is my car never seems to go into programming mode after the 4th time I turn the key into the on position (I never hear the locks cycle like they should). I do hear the locks doing something every time I turn the key to the on position. Does anyone have any ideas on why this isn't working.

I know people ask about this topic all the time and i have checked the archived threads but no luck.
