Re: (Split Image Prez)
Ok...so i went to the track again today...keeping some of the things u guys said in mind...
so i did a tiny bit better...
me on the left
ok...so like i stated before...4th gear is definatley cutting me off at 7000 rpm w/ my p30 ecu
so this time i tried something different....at 7000 rpm...i shifted into 5th gear...and this time i got this...
me on the left
lookie there. my trap speed is definately better...and i finally hit 14's. now my question is this. why is there a speed governor at 7000 rpm at 4th gear? i dont know wut made me shift into 5th gear...but i just felt like i had to..and i ended up getting better times. would a chipped p28 ecu take away that rev limitor or speed governor on 4th gear? any ecu experts want to help me out with this?
i dont think ive ever heard of anyone shifting to 5th gear on the track...but for some reason...i do to get better times. if i leave it on 4th gear till the end...i will only get 15's
so i did a tiny bit better...

U got a PM.
on another note. any ECU experts out there on the p30? still getting stuck at 7000 on 4th gear. wont go to 8200... would a chip p28 be best?

Re: (krazn)
I don't know about the p30, but is it chipped? If it is, I suppose the program that was put on there could have a speed dependant rev limiter. Is the limiter at 7000 in 5th (if you are able to go that fast somewhere)?

Re: (krazn)
Did you swap out the header yet?
I would do that first and get some track worthy tires.
Chipped P28 is nice. I have one, though not from Kenji. I run the Mugen program and wasn't a believer in chipped ECU's til I got this one.
Oh yeah your mistake was thinking that the flywheel was a good mod for the 1/4, when you could've put that cheez towards some of the above mods and put a better chance on hitting your numbers.
Make sure you take out your spare and jack if you haven't already.

Re: (gumtape_deathmatch)
thanks for the honest reply. lightened flywheel definatley makes it harder to launch. and tires are coming soon. i think i may have gotten a new header...thats still pending. my question for u is...when does ur vtec kick in? how is ur fuel map...and where do u rev to? is ur motor still running stock inernals?

Re: (krazn)
Does your car hit the rev limiter at all gears at 7000rpm or just 4th gear?
Reason being if your motor is still cold you run off a cold rpm limit which is around 7000rpm i believe well i know it is in my crx. When the motor is warm i can run all the way to 8400rpm with no problems and still pulling( have to send my ecu to kenji still to get my rev limiter raised)..

hey. its only 4th gear that i can not past 7000 rpm. i had to shift into 5th gear to get into the 14's. car was definately warm. but yeah...i too have just bought a p28 ecu from kenji. hope that helps.
is ur motor still stock?

dude i was gonna reply with some helpful info, but everything has been said already....practice makes perfect remember that
and if you dont already lower your tire pressure a little bit

I never had that happen to me. I was using a jdm obd1 p30 on a second gen jdm b16. All I know is the speed limiter kicks in around 115.

This is a myth, a lightened flywheel decreases rotating mass which frees up both lost horsepower and torque, note I said frees up, not produces. The only downside to lightened flywheels is the revs drops quicker since it will have less momentum than a heavier flywheel which means that your launching techniques will have to adjust for this and it may make launching trickier

I spent enough money on dyno tuning but if you want I'll show you the way up there. I might have a couple people interested in some pulls too. pm me and we can probaly set a date to head up there .

man, 15.0## with a .917 reaction time. that's like a 14.5 run if you had a better reaction time. like whoa, im freakin out man...
Reaction time has nothing to do with E.T.
Reaction time is only the time before breaking the 2nd beam......That is also when the timmer starts for your 1320.

The ECU is fine....
The Factory Tach in the Car is Off....
That F/W was not the best choice for the "Strip"....
Tires Always Help....
Do you throw any codes? If so, I think I will bet which One!....
