Default problems starting please help

So i put a d16 head on a d15 block and now it won't turn over. I have checked all the grounds and such. I was wondering if it matters if you have a distributor that was from a automatic car maybe there some thing that triggers it to turn over like when it is in park it will only start is there some wiring i could perform to fix this.

Do you have spark and fuel?

Is the dizzy 180-degrees out of phase? Battery dead? We need more details.

Starter? Make sure the trigger wire is connected at the starter.

trigger wire is that the black wire with a white line in it. if so i bought a wiring harness and that was cut off but i got a wire to go to the starter and connected it to the cut wire in the harness. is there any grounds in the dash around the ignition that would make it not turnover.
