Problems after tune was done
I have a jdm b16a that was tuned with an vafc by my local tuner. The problem is that now my vtec engages at 4k no matter how much pressure I put on the gas pedal.
I know that the shop didn't mess with the vtec option on the vafc. When vtec engages the is no power increase but I can tell that it is on. Also after I shift at about 4500 and let the rpms go below 4k the car will not move until it resets I guess. I can hit the gas but it doesn't kick in for at least 3 seconds.
What could be the problem?

You could but if you touch it it cancels all hope that you could get a free fix as opposed to having to pay for a new tune. If you really want to do it yourself start playing with the VAFC and slowly set everything to 0 for starters then go from there.

Re: (305-H22A)
My tuner knows domestic, and euros very well. He said that he has worked on hondas before, but maybe he lied. The only other tuners that I know of are more then an hour away.

sounds like you have a stock motor.
why exactly are you getting it tuned? why not just run off of the factory map?
can you please post your set up? including what year car. details please.

Re: (The Lobster)
My motor is internally stock with bolt ons. The tuner said he knew how to work with the vafc. I am giving up on them and going with someone else. The new tuner is an authorized crome dealer and hates piggybacks.

ya i would go with chrome...but it really does seem like you dont need a tune...you could save all that money and just slap in your oem ecu. your tune wouldnt net you that much more hp.

Cannot do that because I am not a dick. I do plan on going back there for baselines not tuning. If I demand my money back then I will not feel comfortable going back there again.

go with crome. if your ecu is already chipped then just get a new chip with a different map. all the b16 swaps i do i tell them to run a type r map and it ruins really well

Yes, but poorly. Looks like a rookie did it.

Re: (The Lobster)
My new guy is only 30 minutes away. I am kind of pissed that I didn't find out about this guy till after I wasted my money on the other tuner. Oh well you learn from your mistakes. I will let you all know how it goes.
