Put a jack under the control arm and use an impact gun on the nut, this should work fine

The lower control arm uses long bolts with nuts at the end. You need to hold the nut with another wrench while taking the bolt off. After that, if it just spins inside the bushing, use a screw driver/pin to knock it out.

He said the welded nut inside the subframe has broken loose and the bolt just spins.

OP I had this happen to me, I ended up replacing the subframe instead of cutting a hole in it to get at the welded nut.

I did the opposite. I cut a hole just big enough to fit a wrench on the nut and got the job done.

I held it with vice grips and loosened the nut with a wrench. It took a while but I finally got it done.

Also, be careful with damaging the threads.
