95 hatch STARTS but won't RUN
okay here's how it goes. the car starts and idles fine and all, but when he puts it in 1st, the car feels like it's about to stall. it's like it won't run or go anywhere. i guess it 'bogs' down?
i figured it was a fuel problem.
any comments would help. thanks.

Try to be more specific.
Is it an automatic? I'm thinking it is, but you didn't say. Also, what mods? Mileage? Et cetera. Every bit helps.

haha yeah sorry about the vague descriptions. i can't realy explain it. it's basically, the car STARTS but does not RUN. i think you have to constantly pump the accelerator to get it moving but not too sure. that's why i think it's a fuel problem.

Re: (xjapanda)
Plenty of diagnostic tests you can perform in order to narrow the possibilities.
Dry and wet compression tests.
Check spark plugs.
DMM (DVOM) comes in handy to check resistance values, e.g. of ignition wires.

Re: (THEDirtyDseriesWOOT)
had my first ef hatch start doing that, changing the fuel filter solved the problem found out later the previous owner ran arco 87 for years then i ran some chevron cleaner and all the stuff from the tank clogged it up.... its a cheap part to try for the fix
