Default problem launching at the track [auto]

Hey guys, Merry XMas.
I'm trying to get the Civic ready for a little more track fun this coming summer, but last time I ran it, I was having a ton of trouble launching it - I was playing around with it last night too and still had problems launching.

Basically,
the car is an automatic, I hold the gas and the brake (mash the pedal all the way down) and the car starts to drift forward. I had to launch before holding the brake pedal all the way down and holding the e brake and releasing both at the same time . It did not make for the best R/T. Normally I'm pretty good on tree, but this was bad.

So far this is a 93 civic hatch with only bolt ons, I couldn't believe I was drifting forward on a brakestand with such minimal power. What do you guys think? Rotors/Pads? Will that solve my woes or is it a lost cause with launching? If pads/rotors are the solution can you recommend a good brand

have a great day

Sounds to me like you'll be buying a new tranny very soon.

I would recommend buying yourself a 5-speed swap and set it to the side. Then take your car out and neutral bomb the **** out of it until it dies. Then do your swap.

the stall speed on that trans is probably pretty low

your best bet for consistancy is to hold the brakes and hold the engine revs @ 2000
when the light turns green foot to the floor and off the brake

Your killing your trans holding the brakes and WOT, and if you do the neutral drop you run the risk of blowing your trans.

Just play around with the stall speed and see what works best ff the line, ie. 1500rpm, 2000rpm, etc. just dont go too high

You need to bypass your electronic torque converter relay. Its really easy and it only takes a few tries.
What you do is you go around 40MPH and you smash the gear selector into P. You should hear a slight grinding noise, if you hear it then you bypassed it and youll be able to launch at any RPM you'd like with faster R/T.
