Does it work fine when the door is closed?

This is a BS convenience feature to prevent you from locking the key in the car.

don't know what to tell you. Most all hondas and acura's won't let you lock the doors when open unless you pull on the handle. Don't know why it would be doing it when closed.

also my passenger door lock doesnt completely lock or unlock first try anymore either. i flip the switch and it goes half way so to lock it i have to do unlock then lock for it to lock all the way

as people have previously stated...

honda designed driver's doors to NOT lock when the door is open.
to get around that fact, people pull the door handle (with the door open) and lock the door.

unless there a difference with honda's with power locks...

what you CAN do is pull the door panel off and see what's going on inside.

If honda designed it that way, then why DID mine work fine, and now they don't?

Mine is doing this also.

Plus what would be the point of a power lock switch if it didnt lock the door your sitting at?

Personally I think you bs'ed that last piece.

What this guy is saying is that he doesnt shut unless you pull the door handle, meaning that even a keyless transmitter isn't getting it to shut properly.

Anyone opened her up and looked?

BUMP, someone please find this out!

the locks work fine when the door is shut.

Exactly what I was saying.

But what his and mine problems are is that you can lock the car when the door IS shut. you HAVE to pull the handle to get it to lock.

that ISNT normal.

I've read it might be an actuator, but I dont really know if that has anything to do with it.
