Problem with axels?
Hi all, need some help here. I got a eg with a GSR swap, recently just after I installed my coilovers I would get a wierd vibration when I accelerate...so I put the car on the lift and found out my right axel is kinda loose if I yank at it, also my right cv boot spat out all this black grease on the inside of my rim. Well now you have pretty much the background info. here is my dilemma how can I tell if the axels are for my 94 eg or 94 GSR when the swap was done at the shop, or it does not matter either or will work. Also does anyone know if the 94 HB si came with a LSD? Thanks.

If you got a GSR swap in your hatch, then you must have B-series axles swapped in also. Is your car extremely lowered also?
And no, the USDM 94 Si hatch didn't some with LSD, but it wouldn't matter anyway, because with a GSR swap, you also have a B-series tranny with it too. D-series engines don't mate up with B-series engines.
Otherwise, some 94 Si's have ABS... as does mine. I also have LSD because I have an JDM LSD tranny.

Yes it was extremely lowered at the shop that installed my coilovers almost 1.6 inches from stock. I still need the camber and toe adjusters for it. Could the lowering have stressed the axels, CV Boots?

Yes.... I was think that the lowering stressing out your axles.
If it was just a matter of a CV boot tearing from age and the axle going bad, ou would have been warned first by a clicking noise while taking turns. But since the joint is all loose, the lowering probably busted it. And factoring in that your axles have some age to them.

Yeh, I had my suspicions, but I haven't really heard about coilovers doing that to axels and cv boots, maybe uneven tire wear but not all together ruining my axels. Anyhow I guess I have to source a new set of axels.
