Default Preserving headlights with clear coat?

I replace both my 99-00 headlights with aftermarket ones. I would like them to last for years to come. Can I protect them from weather and keep them crystal clear with clear coat?

You would likely have better results with a protective film such as Lamin-X.

I've wondered the same thing. Since I've sanded down my yellow nasty *** headlights, I was wondering if you could spray a coat of clear to keep them shiney and nice for a longer time.

BUmp for this guy.

Interesting, but clear coat seems easier to apply and is much cheaper.

But it is also more difficult to remove, and won't provide nearly the level of protection that something like Lamin-X will.

Hmmm...looks like lamin-x is $50 while a new set of Civic headlights is only $100. Thanks for the input, but I'll probably clear coat my headlights.
